  1. Cost Index: HVAC and plumbing labor rates by state

    • Launched HVAC and plumbing labor-rate calculators, plus pay and labor-rate pages for California, Texas, Florida, Arizona, Illinois and New York.
    • Wage data: BLS Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics, May 2025 estimates (SOC 49-9021 and 47-2152), verified October 23, 2026.
    • Published chain defaults: payroll taxes 10%, workers' comp 8%, benefits $4 per paid hour, billable time 60% (55–65% range), target gross margin 40%.

  2. Regional labor data in the calculators

    • The HVAC, plumbing, electrical and cleaning calculators started showing local wage bands and the LeadDuo Cost Index for a ZIP code, built from BLS, BEA and HUD public data.
